Hey, while we're on subject sort of, not to hijack the thread, but what gains do LTs give an 03? I'm still learning what numbers you gain from everything. I'm not sure if it's something I should consider in the future or not. I think it's unlikely to happen though because my car is pretty damn low. I dunno, I can make it over speed bumps now still (at least I haven't scraped yet... I go really slow), so I might as well keep going until I can't right? [8D]
How many times do I have to tell you Andrew? Unless your making over 650hp, LTs are a waste of money. They net you 0. Go search on modular fords, you'll see the tests awhile back. The stockers flow hella good up until 600-650. However, if you have the engine out, then by all means, change them out.

Lideo @ Alternative Auto (www.alternativeauto.com) who will be tuning my car next month said that the stock manifolds are great flowing manifolds. If you have the money and just want to throw them on go right ahead but on a budget the only thing you'll get is about 8hp and better sounds, THAT'S IT! He has a Mach 1 w/ just a catted X, flows and a Kenne Bell putting like 17 PSI or something like that (it's been awhile since I've been updated on his Mach) and he put down 520 or some odd rear wheel HP; ON STOCK MANIFOLDS. You don't need long tubes unless you want to say, Hey I've got LT's. They aren't worth the money.

And Ellik your right about the mid-lenghts, I was wrong good call!

let me get this mess straightened up:

stock 99 and 01 cobras:
very restrictive stock manifolds
If u get aftermarket, then get longtube headers because midlengths suck!!

stock 03/04 cobras:
Very well flowing stock manifolds
No need to swap, unless going over the 650 rwhp threshold.

Oh, I know the 03/04 manifolds flow really well as is. I was just wondering at what point LTs will give you something and what. You know, for future plans . Anyway, I'm not to a point where I need them yet and I don't want to hijack the thread so I'll just save it for later. [8D]

cross the 750 rwhp threshold, and longtubes WILL add a significant amount of power

I can't say I know anything about the 99/01 manifolds but I can say something about the 03/04..

A buddy of mine has a Whippled 04.. He put down 591 @ the wheels.. He spend something like $1,100 on longtube headers and an X-pipe.. They were installed and went back on the exact same dyno which gave him the 591.. Well, with the new additions he dropped into the 580s and lost 2 lbs. of boost..

The tuner ended up changing out his crank pulley and something else which got him his boost back and he went up to 601 after some fine tuning..

The end result for long tube headers on a Whippled 04:

$1,100 = 10 WHP...

*** that!

Exactly. I went with mid-lengths only because I had the engine out and new rebuild. Didn't have the heart to put the old mani's back on to a fresh engine. Pretty much every other bolt on was new, lol. I like the way they sound. I don't care if they netted me 0, I just needed something new and that would mate up with my Bassani X.
