Default ABS Light

Can changing tires and rims affect the abs system? I put a new set of wheels and tires on my 96 Cobra saturday. Same size rim with just a little bit bigger tire on the back. As soon as i drive it for the first time after the swap, my Abs light came on. Its off when you first crank the car and then it comes on after a few miles. Any ideas?BTW it never came on before the new stuff was put on.

I believe that larger tires / wheels will affect the ABS. I have heard of it happening before... not sure of a resolution to the problem though... sorry...

YOUR ABS IS RUN BY A SENSOR... ALOT OF TIMES THAT SENSOR GETS DIRTY ON THE FACE WHERE IT READS THE TEETH OF THE AXEL AND IT CAN'T MAKE OUT THE CORRECT READING SO THE ABS LIGHT WILL COME ON.. MY SUGGESTION IS TO TAKE WHEELS OFF AND TAKE SENSORS OUT.. IF DIRTY CLEAN THEN PUT IN AND DRIVE IT IF PROBLEM KEEPS UP THEN JUST BUY NEW SENSORS.... GOOD LUCK
