lol call ur insurance company 5grand a yeaR?

also kaz, i wasn't saying its impossible for a termi to handle 700 hp

i was saying i doubt the thread starter wants a 700hp daily driver

he wants 550hp out of his first car... well i do too but ive had mine for 3 years now lol

Edit: also, arm you said the gas in the chevelle was outrageous... a 550hp cobra isnt gonna be much better lol.

and please if you do get a termi take it easy, when i was first driving my 96 cobra, it was next to stock besides little mods and i scared myself more than once, yeah they are fun but its not worth showing off to your friends and doing something stupid that costs someone a life.

A terminator for your first car? that is not truely a good idea ide have to say. Do you know how many people have crashed them due to not showing them respect/lack of knowledge or experiance driving.

Ide stick to an N/A cobra for right now.

And to the _camo_snake.. I saw your still over seas and you picked up that cobra in your avatar. Congrats man! Yea, our motors can handle 450RWHP stock for a while as long as its tuned well. Otherwise, when its time to really push the motor or it dies, yes all you will need is forged rods/pistons.. i mean plus some other stuff you might want at the time, redo cams and all that other good stuff. Otherwise our crank and our block are bulletproof so your good to go as far as that.
Thanks man, I cant wait to drive it. It has cams and other engine mods, but I wa thinking of putting forged internals to s/c it eventually. I was thinking maybe I could just bore and stroke it and leave it N/A but who knows. Also Im new to a Cobra, what is a Terminator?

I think you will be fine. I mean i got my cobra after owning a 69 volkswagen bug and an 03 ford focus, now i have a head cam whipple cobra(just waiting for the stupid bap and sct 2800) also im going to drive my car daily with 17lbs of boost and have a second tune for my smaller pulley and 20+lbs of boost and race gas for the races. It should drive to vegas and back with the ac on the whole time and the tunes blastin(true ten second daily driver idk about 700 rwhp??) for you new buddy Just keep the traction control on if your going through the twisties and if you decide to drive it in the rain the car will only go as fast as you want it to go. K just don't be stupid there arn't that much cobras out there to be totaling. But otherwise you will be ok.

the point wasnt entirely how much power the car had, but the mere fact that its his first car, you have had two to get used to driving in general, the power together with the fact that its his first car = recipe for disaster, for the car or a worser fate.

also camo termi or terminator refers to the Project name the 2003-2004 cobras have therefore a termi is... well an 03 or 04 cobra lol.

Our engines do not need to be bored/stroked to make power. They are already maxed out, if not it is just not needed my man. If you want to, like you said, forge the internals, you might need better cams once you do this, delete your IMRC's, turn your intake into a short runner intake, and Port and Polish your heads, and you will be GOOD TO GO!!!Also you will NEED a good tune, i recomend Jon Lund tunning, get an Xcal-2.

Also whenever you hear: sn95(94-98 body style), new edge(99-04), but Terminator was the developement name, and is the nickname for the 03/04 Cobras(these are the only year cobras came supercharged).

Also in 2000 no cobra was made, that was when they made the 00 Cobra-R.
and in 1995 was when the other Cobra-R was made.

These are rare, and basically ready to go race cars lol. Only 300 were made of each.
