if you look under the thread "cobra question" you will see many people that feel there is no problem giving these motors boost. 1 guy even says he has no problem bolting a super charger on a car with 120k miles on it!
I MY OPINION not fact!
The worst thing to do to a non forged bottom end mustang is to super charge it.
Most of us drive these cars for fun, that means every time I drive one of my cars I burn out, go 100 + mph ,see how fast I can drive the off ramp, and if I see a corvette or sti its on! Especially if I am in my 03.
It can be done but it will be on borrowed time.
Why do it? Just buy a 03 04 cobra. The cost to build a gt or older cobra into a 03 or 04 is not worth the money.
I own a small speed shop, next door to me is a well known mustang builder that has built several cars for mustang mag , they super charge, turbo and do ground up restos. Most of these cars are road race cars that he does for rich guys, I have spoken with him about this same topic and his words are " it wont last" this is coming from a guy that really knows his sh$t
a 32 valve cobra with bolt ons and a tune is pretty good. Spend your money on tires, suspension , brakes and a really good sound system.
Adding that much boost to that motor and you will be spending $5k+ to rebuild it correct
