i have an 04 cobra and whenever i start it the belt seems to squeek and its loud.... but it seems to go away as the car warms up. could this just be the belt or something more serious??

get a new belt, check and make sure all the idlers are tight, mine did that when one was so loose it was about to fall off. If belt doesnt fix it it may be a bad idler bearing

 

new belt!! they get dry and dry rotted which causes slippage which causes squeek....it goes away when the engine heats up cause the belt heats up and sticks more...like anti said if belt doesnt fix it check the tensioner which would cause the belt to be loose which squeeks over the pullies

 

...My Cobra did that when I bought it...replaced the belt and the problem was solved!

 

also i switched to a gatorback belt when this happened to my gates belt, i like it better
