How did he check the oil pressure, because the factory gauge is basically a dummy light.

I'm sorry but I'd say the the engine is toast. Time for a High compression Cammer!

almost sounds like u got a sparkplug rattling around lol, i'd pull the plugs before you do anything... just in case, almsot sounds like rod knock at the same time... thats what i thought my blown plug was at first when really it was just my plug knocking around in the socket.

+1 on new mechanic major engine damage with zero oil happens very quickly. The car shouldnt loose oil pressure EVER unless there is something very wrong with the engine. Change the oil and filter and look in the oil for metal shavings.

I'm not disagreeing that loosing oil pressure is bad or that the OP doesn't have serious problems but being a dummy switch it can go bad and the gauge can appear to loose pressure without the engine truly loosing pressure.

Again, I'm sure the OP has serious issues but a dummy gauge is still a dummy.

If the OP didn't want to make more than 400ish hp it would be a fairly cheap rebuild and build it to be a very nice NA cobra.

Obviously I like boost.
