Anyone have any tips for a newb installing gauges? I have oil press, temp, and air/fuel...... just wondering if i should know anything going in..... also is it hard and approx how long will it take? also can you hook all three power wires to the cig lighter wire or will it start to trip and where else can you put them to? thanks

It def. helps to have some sort of wiring diagram for the car beforehand. I'm new with Mustangs, but I did all the wiring on my previous car and didn't run into any problems. Something to remember, at least I know w/the air fuel gauge, is that it needs to recycle itself every time you turn the car on and off, so the power source can't be a constant 12V from the battery.

Can't use the Cig lighter, it's constant hot. Your gauges will always be on. One easy way is to buy a test light (like 5 bucks from NAPA) and probe your fuse block under the dash. Find a key on hot fuse, mark it, then take your fuse bock down and splice into the back side of that wire for power. Finding a ground is easy, they're all over. For lights, use your test light on the wires at the back of the headlight **** (dimmer switch), when the light turns on rotate the ****...if the test light bulb dims, that's the wire to splice your gauge lighting too. That way, when you dim your gauge cluster, your aftermarket ones will dim too.
