Timing Chain Set for my 97 Cobra

So if I waited until 100k to change mine, I'll be fine? That's only 30k more miles. Just for preventative maintenance's sake.

^I'm pretty sure that there is NO scheduled maintenance for timing chains like there is for timing belts. I mean, it should last you the life of the engine...

I agree with you, but reading this post leads me to believe that they can/will become loose and sloppy.

Hard to get this kit, even harder to get the valve kit/ springs for had...

These parts are so much I almost wish I had gone roller with a 460bb.

Want cams so bad but $800+++

Ah well. Still love my gal.

I did the chain on my fox when it hit 100 grand, it was pretty loose. I noticed a pretty big difference when I replaced it. The chains do wear and stretch.

ya there supposed to last a life time!! the only thing that i have heard before is the slack adjusters could be replaced but its still not like a scheduled maintenance

The chain tensioners extend out to their limit when the chain stretches. Once that happens it is time to replace the chain(s), gears, guides, etc...
