Oily coolent?

Default Oily coolent?

I checked my coolant the other day and noticed it wasnt a green color im used to after looking on othet forums they said it was normal if it has a oil cooler...i dont think my 96cobra has one....is it a cracked block, blown head gasket plz help

The oil filter adapter on these car is considered the "Oil Cooler". The coolant should be green unless its very old and dirty. If it is indeed oil inside the coolant the first thing I would lean towards is a blown headgasket. Have you checked the oil for coolant.

your car does have an oil cooler and it is right where your oil filter screws in!! i would check that first and the orings in it i have seen many of them go bad and the pressure that thing has on it can easily throw alittle oil into our coolant!! if its not that then most likely it is a head gasket doubt its a crack though!! like uberstang said check the oil for coolant also...but ya i would change the 2 orings for the oil cooler cause you need to change your coolant as it is!!

Yea I just checked it and it like watery oil thats bad huh

That was the coolent inside the tank the oil looks fine though

well thats good that your oil is fine but take the cheap first step that might very well be the prob and change the rings and go from there!! hopefully its just that!! make sure to drain all your oil and coolant first! and still prepare to get wet popping the coolant line off the cooler lol...when i did mine i also used rtv to hold the oring in and as an extra sealer! goodluck !!
