Interesting. Not too long after I bought the car, super fast fords magazine said this car could hold a 1000hp they didn't mention the part about input and output shafts breaking. But maybe I missed that part.

The twin-screw makers usually advertise them as more efficient, just going by that really. Yeah, wasn't really registering the 2.9 part, just the generality of it...

ya it can hold 1200 hp if you really want it too but does it say safely and for how long what type of set up....if you get some sticky tires on there and a good clutch that wont slip with 600hp you will start breaking stuff i promise that..

not big change if you stay off the throttle. Get into the throttle-pumping more air = pumping more gas

For those of you that have a whipple what exactly breaks?? You have excuse me but I drove hondas for 15 years prior to getting my cobra and needless to say none of this was ever an issue. I appreciate the all the info and this will help when I talk to the guy who is going to install it.

i know you have already heard from me but its anyone that pushing alittle more power that sticks to the ground...if you slip it doesnt put any stress on your car...

when you think of sticking think of whats putting the force to the ground an what has to hold that force so well go motor back back

motor mount, input shaft, clutch, output shaft, tranny mounts, subframes, driveshaft, rear end ( axles, gears, etc), diff mounts.... that is everything that i have forged, replaced, upgraded, or has broken

if your not gonna be going to the strip and putting slicks on it you can basically cut that list in half and fix as needed
