Default long tube headers

Looking for some feedback from anyone who has installed long tube headers on their cobra. Have a 97 cobra with the engine and tranny out for rebuilding and looking to install BBK long tube headers with the matching H pipe. Is it as easy as advertised with everything bolting up with each other, or will I need to make any modifications with these larger headers?? Thanks for the info.

Are you planning on making a lot of horsepower? I never had full length headers, just some spaghetti tubes that requiered lifting the motor and chewed up spark plug wires. I always heard that the full length headers were much easier to install and maintain.

BBK headders should bolt right up no problems.. make darn sure you do it while its out, its a SOB to do while its still in. I havent done it yet on mine.. its something I plan to do shortly as well. Just dont ask a shop for estimates.. its def a DIY job. Lol, I thought I would call and see what the local places said.. and I'll be damned if they didnt even offer a reach around with their prices.

In the process of installing BBK long tube headers on a 2001 Cobra right now actually. Prolly be easier to do with motor all the way out for sure, but we (it's my brother in-laws car) have a hoist so we unbolted the motor mounts and just jacked the motor still wasn't to bad, the BBK's bolt up real nice.

Did you go with the ceramic coated?

What kind of mufflers you gonna run?

i tried to install the BBK LT's on my 98 and i ended up quitting. For sure install them while the motor is out. No custom modifications will be needed, there should be a "dent" on the driver side header for easier installation, so do not freak out once you see them like i did. Make sure to tell us how it sounds once installed. Good Luck!

I did go with the ceramic coated headers with the matching H-pipe from BBK. Went without cats and hooking up to MAC Mufflers. I hope this combination isn't too loud, but it is only a weekend type of car.
