Default Motor Question?

I have recently seen a lost of post on svtperformance for people talking about motor rebuilds for the 03/04 Cobra. Should I be concerned with my purchase? I just bought mine less than a year ago and I am starting to second guess my purchase based on what I am seeing.

How so? Is the motor heavily modified or high mileage? Has the car been acting weird lately? Like a sudden loss in power, or do the SVT forums just have you paranoid?

Piston to cylinder wall clearances are very small. You can not allow it to overheat, the 2 main ways to overheat it is running high RPM for long distance or running lean. Many folks made mods without a tune and ran lean causing damage. The other thing you do not want to do is use oil other than what is specified.

Also alot of the ****ers on svt are loaded and have the money to blow a motor and not worry about it.

You'll be OK.
