What I meant by that is either a stock tune, or a tune that makes it seem like everything on your car is functioning and will tell their scan tool that everything is alright with your car.

Well I went and bought two catalytic converters... will install tomorrow @ my buddy's shop where has does inspection/emissions testing - so it will hopefully pass once the cats are on the car.

Here's what I bought - scroll 1/2 way down the page to the Magnaflow metallic ones:

GREAT NEWS... I GOT MY INSPECTION STICKER!!

After welding the above-mentioned Magnaflow high-flow metallic cats in place between two O2 sensors on each leg of the H-pipe & driving the car about 75 miles, we hooked it up to the emissions testing equipment (OBDII) and IT PASSED!!

So much for needing a "stock tune" to pass emissions.

LOL... thanks Mike! Hey Mike, how worried should I be about running a Vortech supercharged engine through these cats? There are guys telling me it could blow my engine because cats get plugged... but I can't imagine that would happen without ignoring the cats for QUITE a long time... right?

As far as I can tell, the engine runs the SAME as it did without cats... WICKED FAST!

To be safe, I may just buy a catless JBA H-pipe & only use the catted one for inspection/emissions purposes.

I wouldn't be concerned about it...

The cats are maybe costing you 5-10 rwhp at most.
