On automatic isn't the o/d switch on the "shifter" sorry for the lack of a better term. I hit mine and it doesn't show o/d off infact nothing happens. Is there something im missing here. Sorry the car didn't come with an owners manual [sm=boosign.gif]

Leave it on... It does nothing if you have the go pedal down...

dont really make a differnce, if its off it just wont shift into 4th gear at the end of third

Man there's a lot of bad info in this post, but I'm not mentioning any names. OD kicks in at 42mph. When on it saves you gas by reducing how hard your engine has to work to push you, by causing you to shift to the next gear early, which inturn reduces your RPMs. Kinda cunfussing, I know, put it this way, OD on, you have basically 3 gears because the 4 one always kicks in early, so racing with OK on would be stupid, OD off, you use all 4 gears, that's what you should race with.

You guys scare me, if you floor it does it not wind out every gear? Does it shift into OD at 2000rpms if you have it to the floor? NO... So it dosn't matter if it's on or off as long as you have it floored....

if you lose traction for a second, you will need to lift off the gas, and you'll end up in o/d, so it matters.

I'm sure not many people on here are losing traction after 40mph.... OD dosn't kick in until around that speed... Whatever, you newbies to racing do what you want, I'll do what I do, and keep going faster....

dude, ive never had 3rd gear max out while OD is on, and neither has anyone else's car that ive been in while theyre flooring it.

for me, if i have OD on and i floor it, my powerband just levels out at the end of third until i let off the gas to get into 4th. sure my car doesnt have much power, but ive seen many other cars do the same thing.
