Default Auto to 6speed

Ok... So, my dads work truck is like a early 90's model Ford, and it was a Automatic ... The only reason he bought a auto, was because he got a really good deal on it. About a week ago - He changed it from a auto, to a stick shift.. My question is .. How did he do it? Ive been meaning to ask him, but he isnt home now - and I wanna know, so I figured someone on this forum would know.

It's a bit expensive. You can get a manual trany and the parts from a junk yard. There was a guy on here about a year ago that said he paid around 2k to have his changed at shop. I'll look for that thread and give you a link.

OK, I've just looked until my attention deficit kicked in. I can't find it. [sm=smiley36.gif]
But your Dad is the guy to ask, he did it.

i plan to do a T5 swap this summer...and i only plan to do it because i read somewhere (i think super six motorsports) that a T5 swap would only be around 1200 + 300-350 for labor...but my dad gets discounts at a local tranny shop sooo...we'll see...is it possible/worth it to do a T56?

Why in the hell do you want a six speed, no offence, but your car doesn't push nearly enough hp to really justify getting one.

i KNOW....right NOW.....but then i plan on building the V6 up through college...then i will decide if i want to swap a V8 or sell it and get a 2009 GT or SE whatever one that is....if i do the V8 swap i will most likely go with the T56 so just wondering if it can be bolted up to the V6 so i would save me some heartache later down the road
