mastercraft has worked fine for me for the past 2 years. $80/per tire for 15's.

yes but the price difference between mastercraft and the high end tires is gonna be significantly less, no matter what tire size. i just posted my tire size/cost as a reference.

Yea, for daily driving they'd be ok, but he was also asking me about getting into autocross. And the elcheapos are NOT the way to go when autocrossing. I know....from experience [:@]

i dont know why people go buy the big name brand tires for daily driving though, its not gonna do them any good over the cheapos.

To tell the truth, the tires I had, Daytons(ugh) were great for daily driving. But they weren't so good autocrossing..or hooking up at the drag strip either. They had awesome tread life, and stuck well on the highway, but umm...SUCKED at the track.

EDIT~
Oh and they only cost $76.00 each...
