Actually, I don't doubt your uncles abilities, but a limited slip rear end is much different than the rear ends of old, because if the gear to differential ratio is just a hair off, like too tight, you'll burn up the gears, too loose and you'll strip them, so have a shop that has a lot of experiance with limited slip gears to do the install.
