Default O2 Sensor question

Ok, so the guy who is putting my exhaust on now tells me I need 02 sensor harness extenders. hes putting them in but they wont be hooked up. Whats going to happen? He said it will just run low on performance until I put them in but i should be ok. Just have to get them ASAP. This wont hurt the car for a week?

Alright so my other friend said that it will be fine. I just wont get the MAX perfformance out of it. Not that i was expecting to anyways. I was worried about the car sputtering and acting like its not getting any gas.
