You'r enot supposed to spray on an extreme premium tune unless it's a richened dyno tune. Premium tunes lean out the top end and adjust timing for more top end power. Lean and timing advance is a big nitrous no-no. Run a performance tune on regular gas, for the nitrous, but run premium in the tank, at least until it gets a good tune. Where did you put your nozzle and what jets did you have in it?????

As for the nitrous legality, no it's not legal on the street at all, unless you have a hazmat license. In Houston they have actually impounded cars for HAZMAT violations. It's rare, they mainly did it to the street racers that were buttholes.

I bought a wrecked Cobra and a GT today, so I may have a few engines lying around if you need it for cheap.

I doubt a knock is going to be worth repairing. Knocks come from the crank and rods. You probably bent a rod or spun a bearing. Your dad may have over-reved it and it got too lean and that's where you had problems. That $100 window controller probably seems pretty cheap right about now doesn't it? lol

I doubt you're gonna save that motor, you'll probably be better off hunting down a low mileage used one. I have a V6 block with 70k on it that would drop right in. It's out of a 98 and it looks great. The heads are good, but they would make you lose power. I can get you the block for $300 + shipping. But it's kind of an "As-is" sorta thing. I can't really garauntee it, since it's a car that just came in to my work and I didn't get to crank it before the column got yanked out. But the car was all stock, zero mods, not even an aftermarket c.d. player.

If he does rebuild it though, and you have the money, forged internals are the most surefire way to go. And again don't run on a "Premium" tune, the XCals will lean out the car in that setting. Run a "performance" tune on regular octane and you should be ok. But try to get a dyno tune before you go out spraying again. That's probably the best info I can give you. feel free to ask away again though.

it doesnt make sense to run nitrous on a pure DD... thats like puting 8 turbos in a Honda Odyssesy or w/e... When are youeven going to use it? A. its illegal... B. its kinda cheap to run against cars that dontkno ur set up. C. This isntNeed For Speed, you dont run intoStreet racing extremists at some intersection and just race... buy something that will last longer like a S/C or a T/C... or a w.e...
