I know! Because a supercharger or turbocharger wont make your engine take a sh*t on you either...

Yes and no. Lets put this into perspective, shall we? A properly installed, tuned, and operated nitrous oxide system is just as effective and reliable as another route of F/I. Only difference, w/ a supercharger....you're 14psi all the time. With a turbo charger, yeah you can turn it down, but you're making boost all the time. With nitrous, its a flip of the switch. You have nitrous when you want it. IMO, that alone makes it better for a DD.
If nitrous oxide was illegal.....there wouldnt be a dozen companies that sell kits for all kinds of daily driven vehcles. Not only that, it isnt Need for Speed. You dont run out of nitrous after three or four seconds of use, and even then....it isnt expensive to refill a bottle. Say you want more HP. You upgrade your entire rotating assembly with forged parts, get a 4.2L stroker kit, the works. Then you can just upgrade your nitrous delivery system. Go from a 75 to a 175 shot as well as the forged rotating assembly, complete with 4.2L stroker, for less than just a supercharger and forged rods and pistons would cost........ and guess what.......you STILL get to flip a switch and have a tame DD.
Meh, STILL disagree lol, your not going to change my mind... its a waste of money compared to a charger.. especially for a DD... i understand ur whole flip of a switch thing... if a cop pulls u over, and sees inside ur car and has a suspicion that u were using nitrous he can search you car and write you a ticket... or at leasts thats what ive heard... ill look up some of the laws.... and those companies sell that stuff for track use, but they cant control where its used...
This past weekend (1 October, 04) I was driving my Camaro to a local event (car show). I was following from behind another car enthusiast driving a vintage automobile as I have been for nearly four years. Before I knew it, I was being pulled over by a Virginia State Police while driving Northbound on Route 1, Fredericksburg, VA.
To make a long story short my I was cited with two violations:
First violation, for having a Nitrous Oxide device in the car. Per code below, Nitrous Oxide devices may be installed in cars however; it must be disabled, and disconnected from the bottle. The line (hose) "CANNOT" be hooked up while driving your vehicle on public roads or highways. See CODE: § 46.2-1088.4. below.

It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any motor vehicle on the highways of the Commonwealth if such vehicle is equipped with any device that supplies the vehicle's engine with nitrous oxide, unless the device has been disabled such that the supply of nitrous oxide is disconnected and not readily accessible to the source of delivery. Violation of any provision of this section shall constitute a Class 3 misdemeanor. (fine up to $500) (2004, c. 282.)

I highly doubt Virginia is the only state that has that legal code... since street racing is a "problem" everywhere.
stallion calm down its my car if i want nitrous i will have nitrous....its not a waste...if i would have used it right it would have worked....anyways......the guy said it was topend, either a bent rocker arm or pushrod....which means it can probably be fixed....and i will be back with the nitrous and im taking it to delk to get everything tuned right and therefore maybe what just happened wont happen again.becuase after riding that one time with n2o before it blew, ill do whatever it takes to get it back....man it was awesome...the kb was highly unexpected for my v6
i thought u were SUPPOSED to get bigger injectors if u wanted to run nitrous... and im just saying, because my insurance rate is going up becasue of people who street race and have nitrous and stupid stuff like that... lol... plus i dont want to see you get in an accident. how old are you?

Doesn't matter what the shot is, you should have tuned it. Also, you're not suppossed to start with the shot you want to use, you're suppossed to step yourself up, in otherwords, start off with a 25, then a 50, then a 75, etc. It allows your ecu and engine to adapt to the boost. Also, did you redo your stock spark plugs, or even tamper with the fuel pressure regulator?

You must be confused with starting with a small shot & checking plugs after ever spray to determine just how far you can go on a stock tune (if you like to flirt with disaster).
