One of my old buddies on here had these dynoes.

03yellowpony - CAI, 42% U/D pullies, 65mm BBK TB, ported/polished upper intake, custom diablo tune, catted x pipe, flowmaster 40 cat backs, 4.10 gears, FFRP T-Lok, 9mm spark plug wires - made 184 or so rwhp on the last dyno I saw from him before he sold his car.

Hey jeze68, I would agree and get an ebay cai, and if you can afford it, get a UDP. But if you are broke, you can always try to go with some weight reduction.

Sorry dude, you do not get those gains, yet again, sorry, the site in my lower sig also sells mac, and the owner got ripped on because of the same advertisement on his site for the hp gains.

Seriously, you're talking to somebody that's been there and done that, and I can get a several people that know a butt load more about sixers than you do to back this up. A CAI on a sixer will not yield more than 4 rwhp "AT BEST" which equals maybe 6 bhp on a very good day, but it's closer to 5.

Like I said, GTs will see those gains from CAIs, but not sixers.

Really man, we're just getting this V6 section to start leaning towards more appropriate mods that actually net realy gains, such as h/c/i, s/c, t/c, N2O, etc., last thing we need to do is take a step back in the stone ages with bolt ons that won't push a 99-04 V6 past 200 rwhp.

Read into my sig a little more. Doesnt it seem weird to have a 4.6L in a 95?
My car was originally a 145hp 3.8L That is the first ford I started playing with and modding.
I bought a 2003 Mach1 front clip to replace the engine after overtaxing it in a race and cracking a head and washing the bearings. It is now a SHM 5.2L stroker "Project."

My wife has a 1996 V6 mustang. This car got a MAC CAI.
The head gasket failed on the way to work so I tored it apart to inspect it since I had to get down that far anyways. My car looked fairly chewed up. Not really wanting to put this 160,000 mile engine back together I bought a 2000 3.8L with 51,xxx miles and here is what I am doing to it (Because this just happened this month)

I ported the heads myself, ported the lower intake, bought a sheet of G10 and made my own 3/8" spacer, deburred and smoothed the stock header firecones, bought a Windstar intake manifold w/ 60mm TB (Stock) installed new CAI, ported the TB with a flap wheel to the blade and made my own return style fuel rail. I have a 98 4.2L intake opened up right now for further porting.

Thats just bolt on crap, I put together a 4.2 and 4.3L stroker kit that I can sell to the general public for $1390 as apposed to $1775+ using the same parts, I had to provide the custom specs for the pistons because there is no 0.050 stroker piston out there for use on 6.200" rods. My kit can support in excess of 850hp but I stay convervative at 650hp.

having built custom CAI's myself and ordered pre-fabbed units not only have I felt increases from both but enjoyed the throttle response.

Thats just some of my understanding of the sixer. SSM knows more about me over there on their side.

I can also produce people that know more about this than you or I as well.
Dont feed me BS about someone getting "Ripped On" unless it made news somwhere, people can "Rip" on people all they want but that doesnt mean its legit and will hold water in a court case.
So far your just spouting off stats of peoples cars with a wholecrap load of mods. Lets take a dyno look at just 1 mod, the CAI. Do you really think Mac, JLT, C&L and all the others really lie about their power outputs? Do you think that they would actually put a product out without testing it?

Oh, OK, gotya now, 4.6L in a 95 was a little weird sounding, but I just figured that you dropped in a Mach 1 engine in a 95, hey, stranger things have been done.

Oh here are a few links for dyno results with our very own V6 members.

Oh, and yes, companies do lie, or at least, bend the numbers on dyno results. They use terms like UP TO, and + to get your attention, but what they don't tell you is the car that was used on the dyno.

How does that possibly help this argument? Thats a dyno run of a ton of mods together.

Even so, if they were getting 10 or so bhp, it should of shown, and it didn't show that much, if any affect on some cars. There is probably a stock vs dyno run with just one mod on here, but I sure in the hell couldn't find it, but I gurantee you if I did, and the V6 was older than an 04 and stock, you wouldn't see that much of a rwhp gain, if any.

Ok lets thing about this. We will say that for the sake of argument that an auto will lose 35% of its power through the drivetrain and a manual will lose 20% (Just for arguments sake.)

Auto 10hp = 6.5rwhp
Man 10hp = 8.0rwhp

Arent those numbers fairly close to what you were figuring????
