FYI - GT Take offs usually refer to the cat back part of the stock GT exhaust.

What you are looking for is a 8.8" rear end from a GT correct?

No, a GT take off is anything that was taken off of a GT. You can get GT take off wheels, exhaust, rear end, side scoops, bumper, anything really.

An 8.8 rear end from 94-04 should fit our car. Definately 99-04, but 94-98 should fit too.

why do you want the 8.8??

it's only worth it if you can get one under $500.

the 7.5 is plenty strong with the right parts. I.E. the detroit truetrac limited slip differential

Any rear end from 88+ will work, but 94-98 is a 1/2" shorter on each side, so running 10.5" wheels with 315 rubber won't happen without slight rubbing. I have run a 93 8.8, '00 8.8, 01 7.5,'95 8.8and of course my stock 7.5. I just installed the '00 8.8 last sunday, so my width is correct finally, but it was only a 3.27 gear ratio. My '93 rear was 3.55, my '95 rear was 2.73, and my '01 7.5 was 4.10. I may be swapping in a '98 3.73 rear end soon though.

If you go with anything 88-93 you will have to enlarge the lower control arm mounts on the axle itself, a uni-bit can handle it. Other than that, it's a straight swap.
