Default GT takeoffs vs Flowmaster 40's

Hi, I have a 2006 mustang V6. I need a louder, deeper, throatier exhaust-but I dont know whether to get dual gt takeoff's or dual flowmaster 40's. Also where can I find the best deals for each one, and how much will it cost. Please help.

Hey there! I wanted to know why you specifically choose dual gt takeoff's? Have you considered borla? I came across this thread that might be usefull for you.https://mustangforums.com/m_757355/tm.htm

If I were you, I'd go with Borla. With its Million Mile Warranty, its gonna outlast your car!

Look into JBA's I have an axleback only and my car sounds like a beast. Along with that get a CAI and the sct II tuner and find a dyno shop in your area. It won't feel like the turtle it once was after just these few minor mods

I have heard really good things about the JBA axleback and have decided that will be my next purchase. Definetly consider it.

Do the JBA axle backs sound the best? Do exhaust systems built for the GT fit a stock V6?

A lot of people have had good luck with the GT take off stuff. Here's a link that you might find interesting: http://www.2005stang.com/viewtopic.p...r=asc&start=15. Check the posts by afixer.

He got the Flowmaster X-pipe from eBay for about $80. A pair of GT Mufflers can be had on eBay for around $65 and you can get the GT left side tail pipe from Ford. Add in a few hangers and you are ready to run for a very reasonable price.

The nice thing about this setup is that if the police ever mess with you over the exhaust system, you can legally tell them the mufflers are stock Ford Mustang. Of course, it isn't stock on your Ford, but nothing says you have to volunteer information if they don't ask for it. [sm=smiley2.gif]

I had True Dual JBA's put on my car about 2 week's ago. I love em. I went with an x-pipe that I got from the muffler shop for $50.00 instead of the H pipe that it comes with. If you are looking for a more deeper/hollower sound I would stay with a y pipe or I would put the H pipe on. There is a guy on this forum named Sancho some where who installed the same system I have except he used the H pipe. Now I honestly did'nt think there would be that much of a dif over the sound but its a night & day diff between the X p's & H p's sound but there is. When I got my x p installed it was a lot more quiter than Sancho's. Mine kinda sound's more along the lines of a Porsh. It's got a nice deep vacum type sound to it, not much crackling. ( not winey like a burner or the Magnaflows) Sancho's had a way better sound to his. It sounded more beasty & loud with the h pipe.

So if your concerned about sound H pipe is the way to go but only with JBA's. I have'nt heard much about H- pipes and magnaflow or flowmaster. I went with the x pipe for a better flow which in the long run will produce more HP. A lot of people will say that X pipe's & Ture dual exhaust dont give no gain over the single exhaust for V6's. I say that any True dual kit is going to help it out no matter what & and as for the x pipe not giving so much of a gain, It's not going to show a " Crap a Brick" improvement like they do for the V8's but commen sence should tell you just by looking at it that the air is going flow just a tad bit better than the H Pipe.

I would go with the JBA True Dual ( with H pipe) Set up at v6mustangstuff.com

Thats the exact sound your looking for right there. Just make sure you use a H-Pipe.
