Strange Issues
I usually post over in the 5.0 section, but my wife has a 2000 v6.
Whenever she starts up the car it ticks and then it stops after the car is wamred up. What could be causing this?
Also, if you get on it, the battery light comes one. What could cause this?

The ticking is most likely the passenger side exhaust manifold, there is a known issue with them cracking over time because the A/C line drips condensation on them. The ticking stops because the manifold heats up and closes the hole. You can replace the manifold yourself it just takes some time to swap in a new one.
As for the battery light you should have the alternator tested, most auto parts stores will perform this check for free.
