Quick gears question
theyre actually 4.09s haha. Honestly when I was recalibrating the gears it showed up as 4.09s on diablo tuner. As far as my 4.10s go wow amazing improvment over stock . It just kicks *** plus with the tuner its just awesome power and acceleration gain.
No, the car I have right now is a 95 V6 the one that's in my avatar. BUT, I am going to be buying a GT or cobra for my real project and wanted to put gears into that one, that is why I was asking if 3.55's werebest for any type of mustang 1994-98.
BUMP.
What is the best type of gears for a 1994/1995 5.0 GT or Cobra? And, how does it work with the axle, do I have to go 8inch? And also, what about the shifter, do I have to get a different shifter?

If your getting a GT or Cobra, it will come with a 8.8" rear axle. Some come factory with 3.55 gears. If yourgonna put one in your V6, make sure the 8.8 has the same brakes as yours( ABS or non ABS)

WOW! 3.73s for $50 I thought they cost like $200... I would guess 4:10s will be the same and that's what I want, so do you think getting used gears is a good idea though? Just sounds too cheap..

MPS doesn't sell junk. my current 3.73's had 150,000 miles on them from and old diesel ranger before they were in my car. they have almost 200,000 miles on them now with no problems.
the main cause of rear failure is either from the small ford differential spyder gears blowing out or from people romping on the rear without giving the new bearings a chance to seat properly.
i don't believe MPS has 4.10 gears for the 7.5 but call them, they might have a set. 3.73's IMO are just fine for any year V6 stang and 3.45's or 8.8 3.55's are real nice for pre 99's.
like i said earilier 3.45's are ideal for a turbo as are the 05+ 3.31 gears
