I've got a 98, and I want to get an Optima Redtop battery for my car, theproblem is, there is not one made for my model specifically.

I'm most likely going to relocate my battery to the trunk, so does it matter as long as its a 12 volt battery? I figure I'd get one with similar CCA to others made specifically for mine, but since one is not made, does it really matter?

I normally think the more CCA the better. Usually that means a bigger battery thoe... If it were in the trunk I would have it in a air/ liquedtight box bolted to the bottom of thetrunk.

I don't belive it HAS to be in an airtight box. In my moms jaguar, the battery is in the trunk just located under the floormat. Its bolted down, but thats it. We had to jump it the other day, and we just lifted up the carpet, plugged in the jumper cables and started it up. easy as pie.

I really need the weight over the RR wheel though. it spins way too easily, and I belive by moving the battery, it transfers and extra 65lbs or so to the right rear corner. If I get an even larger battery, maybe my left wheel will be the one spinning instead. lol
