4.2 stroker ?
ORIGINAL: spclforcesman@yahoo.
I am going to be rebuilding my engine and doing a 4.2 stroker kit in my shop class in about 8 months so i am slowly saving up and getting the parts i need for it. There was a post before that had a list of everything you need to do it, but i can't find it. I beleive i know everything i need but one thing. I can't remember what that one thing is, it something like a flex plate or harmonic balancer, or something along that line. I have a 2000, it had something to do with the internal balancing of something. If anyone knows what it is i am thinking of or knows the complete list of things i need it would be greatly apreciated if you could post it so i can verify that i have found everything i need. Thanks

I was using a small font, altleast i thought, i could barely read it when i was typing it up so i made it bigger. And it wasn't that big on my screen when i posted it. I don't want to supercharge it, i want someone to open my hood and see nothing but a 3.8 block and then i want to smoke them in the quarter mile or atleast keep up with them. And For about $2k i can do a 4.2 stroker, put in a shift kit, and a stall converter.
The 3.8 mustang block is the same as the ford 4.2, right? So can i use a gasket set from for a 4.2 ford truck will work for my mustang right? Or will some work and some not work? Thanks

You can do an N/A well built 4.2L for $2000. I did it in Texas awhile back. Looked 100% stock, put down 247 hp / 256 tqto the wheels.

Yes the gaskets should be the same. You asked me a Q on ebay about the crank bearings, It doesnt come with them but summit had some on sale last i knew. Clevettes... All you will need is a new oil pan on your engine. Sleeper is the best way to go

Those are some pretty impresive numbers for N/A, at a low price too. I wonder what they would be like with F/I?[&:]

Okay, I've been reading some of these stroker threads... Is all you need to do this the crankshaft? Every time I bring this up to my dad (who's a mechanic) he's always talking about how you have to do a whole bunch of other stuff, but I'm not sure if he's talking about supporting mods or just what's required for this. Is there a writeup anyone's done on this I can read through? Links please?
