What is holding these hub caps on(it's a 97 v6) do they snap in or do the lug nut covers hold them on?

stock: steel sprung on the inside of the wheel. pops on and off. nuthin attaches to nuts.
edit: sorry i wasn't reading closely you say those lug nut covers. my stock three spoke (98, I know... gross) has a plain hub cap and lugs are not exposed or "covered"
