Default intake

right now i'm broke, so i have to put off any mods for now. well, my brother got a new cold air intake, he replaced the one he had for a couple of months. now i should mention he has a 95 impala. so when i check the sizes and i could connect it. the thing is it's a little too big. he told me to use pvc. the opening in the intake is 3 in. i don't know the size of the part that connectas top my stang. i could figure it out. and downsize the pvc for it to connect. would thishave any negative implecations? (i know it's a little ghetto, but for now)

if you plan on making it a permenant mod, the pvc may not allow it to pass emissions, so you may need to put the stock setup back on when you need to have emissions checked.
