Squealing noise
Any information from the following problem would be a great help, its a on and off squealing noise that also fluctuates in noise level, espically when the car is first started. The belt has been replaced, also the stationary and idler pulleys, the whole spring tensionar assembly, the water pump and its pulley. The ac unit and power steering unit are not making the noise but there is definetly a squeeling noise still emitting from the area of the belt, it almost sounds like a chirping sound because it fluctuates, definitely not constant. Its a 99v6 with 76k on it.
Thanks for any info.
Thanks for any info.
ive got the same problem with my 89 LX, the belt squeals for abit when i warm it up but then it stops. i dont even have my A/C belt on because the A/C doesnt work. so would that be my power steering as well? if so, like calo said what do i do?
A good way to know if it's a power steering pump is when you hear the squeel, turn the steering wheel all the way to the left or right and see if it gets louder. Because as you turn the wheel, pressure builds making the pump work harder and it will squeel louder and start to pulse.
