Default RE: Overheating

Well I know for sure whats wrong with my car, today as I was going home the engine was just barely puttering along and then as I got to my house she was really starting to bog and dropped from 1k rpms to just 500. I got home and popped the hood and let the steam out and I decided to drain some antifreeze (or I should say coolant since its mostly water now =/) and looking at it I can see the little oily rainbow residue thats pretty much the equivalent to the cough of blood from the red death.
So now my only choice is to nurse it to and from school and make sure it has plenty of coolant. Im about to call MPSautosalvage and see how much a split port V6 is because from what Ive heard it bolts right up to the tranny and theres only some minor electrical stuff I have to deal with.

On the bright side Ill have 190-195 hp and itll have low miles and wont sound like crap.
On the down side Ill have to bum a ride to school for a month as me and my dad take the engine out and put a new one in.
Hell Ill probably take plenty of pictures and make a step by step guide so I can get a contributor tag lol

if you are going with a splitport go with a 4.2L F-150 engine. there is alittle more to swap but it will give you alot more torque than the 3.8 splitport.

you need an 01+ oilpan from a stang. stang upper intake and modified fuel rail to make it a return style fuel system that your car has as well as swapping out some sensors

everything needed is listed over at www.3.8mustang.com

Their giving me the entire engine, everything included. And he mentioned something about the fuel return thing and hes giving me something for it. Right now Im talking with my dad and were going to park the sixxer for awhile so we can work on it and in the mean time I could drive an '03 mach 1. Its 14 grand and my dad wants a mach 1 really bad so hes talking to the guys at the dealership.
