Default ANY IDEAS WHAT THE PROBLEM IS??

Alright so this is the second time this has happened. Both times have been on start up. I start up my car and right away i can tell somethings wrong. The engine runs all chuggy and rough. I pull out of the driveway and it feels like im towing something. When i start to accelerate through the gears my car accelerates really slow and still feels like im towning a huge load or something. My shifter **** bounces all over the place while driving when my engine is sounding wierd. Than my service engine soon light starts to blink. It will continue doing all of these things for about fifteen minutes than it just stops running rough and accelerates normally and the engine runs normal and the service engine soon light stops flashing and goes away. Both times i have checked my plugs and plug wires and they are fine. There hasnt been any rain or anything around the times this has happened and i regularly run fuel system cleaner through my car. Any ideas anyone??

could be a number of things...fuel filter, bad plugs, bad coil, clogged cat, fouled 02 sensors...but if your cel is flashing, have your local advance auto scan tool it for free, and see what that tells ya. hopefully, itll be a relatively simple fix. good luck.

if the check engine light is flashing it means that there is a missfirebad enough to damage the cats. the code might not be in the memory because it wil have to occour 2 times in concecutive drive cycles to set a memory code. untill then it will set a pending code, not all aftermarket scanners can pull those. best bet is to take it to a dealership and have them use the ford scanner, or wait untill it turns the light on for good and then scan it.

very interesting. so it most likely could be a missfire that could end up killing my cats?
