Now just to make my intentions clear, I'm not trying to build any sort of racer, whether it be street or track. There's a reason I bought a mustang that was a v6, auto, and a convertible...
I just want to have a car that sounds decent, and be able to shut up most of the lancer, civic, and eclipse ******** running around the city who rev at everyone they see. I'm not looking to pour a lot of money into this, no more than maybe a g total.
so so far DEFINITELY:
cai
paint for the lights
chin spoiler
and maybe exhaust (i want to do this, but i wanna know a ballpark price first)
probably an udp too

alright i would still do gears on top of that stuff you said. definitely. if you know someone who will isntall the gears for you cheap or free that will save you a lot of money.

i payed about a little less than 200 for my dual exhaust, but i dont have what i suggested above. lol i just have GT take offs with stock gt mufflers still on them. i would def. get the above setup if you really want the mean sound. thats what im saving for currently. i dont know how much it is estimated yet though

cai = <40 bucks ebay
chin spoiler, idk around 1-150? not sure
tint spray i have no idea
spend the rest on exhaust

I read in another thread that the ebay cai is of a low quality, the post said something about the chrome fading and an issue with dry rot... any truth to that?

if you are worried about dry rot on the rubber connectors, you can always armor all them. thatll stop it, and look nice under the hood. just dont leave any overspray in the actual tube! :P

but man, id go with a tried and true quality one, instead of worrying about quality or fitment. i have a bbk that i modified and made it a wai instead of a cai (chopped off the piping right before the maf sensor...the filter no longer sits IN the fenderwell, but right beside it...only about 3 inches of difference, but makes cleaning/changing the filter a 20 second job instead of a 20 mintue job, and it stays cleaner). go with the one you want, but i say go with a "known" brand.
