My abs light isnt on permanent, but it comes on as soon as you apply brakes. when i checked the car over for the m.o.t. the cable from the back to the sensor was hanging loose, when i put it in the proper place that was when the problems started. the brakes still work ok so far..lol. but thats all i can put it down to... dont know if this will help you but its my experiance..

One time by accident I drove my car with e brake up. After a little driving my abs light came on and it was on for like 20 min and pulled over and notice my e brake was up. But it turned off after 10 min.
