Is it worth it to pay for plus or supreme gas or just stick to regular?

stick to regular. getting anything higher if you're not tuned for it is a waste of money.

Depends. After running regular for the majority of my cars life, after running a couple tanks of Shell V-Power through her, it got a little more "spunk" and seems like its happier. But gas mileage, didn't notice a difference.

Sooo, in a nutshell, just using regular and fuel treatment every once and a while will clean the engine just as well I guess.

zeke is correct...unless you have a custom tune designed for higher octane gas, it's a waste

don't listen to anyone, get the super. you're only paying 50-70 cent's more from feeling the tank. but the higher octane number means the cleaner it is. actually the best gas would be the kerosene which is like 98 octane. anyway the higher the octane # the longer you car will run.

oooo the gas stations are reeling in a live one here! 93 vs 87 is 25-30 cents more/gal, which is close to $4/fill up. higher octane gas isnt' CLEANER or BETTER, it just has a higher ignition temperature, which means if you have a high compression engine (or a tuned engine with later spark timing), you need a higher octane gas to prevent premature ignition (engine knock). if you have a stock tune, and are not getting engine knock with 87, there is no advantage to a higher octane gas.

that is the most retarded thing i have ever heard. as mentioned before "octane" rating is for anti-ping only. it increases the combustion temp of gas to eliminate in pre-ignition caused by high cylinder temps before spark ignition. Octane is actually an IsoHeptane. Octane is not used. it is used only as a laboratory control against the various anti ping agents such as the aforementioned various isoheptanes as well as ethanol.

if your car doesn't ping on regular then it is a waste of money to put higher "octane" gas in it

go ahead and put kero in your car. it won't run. kero is for jet or diesel ignition. Kero would have about a 150 Octane rating or more and if it was used on combustion engines it would use the Cetane rating not the Octane rating. do us a favor and don't post tech again

I actually had to fill up a few weeks ago and my premium was $1.10 more than regular! It's not as bad now, but why waste money on something that has ZERO benefit.

why stop at 93? do your car a favor and get some 103 octane. maybe some jet fuel?

If your worried about trying to clean your engine or anything like that, try to seafoam it the next time you change out your oil. You didn't state in your post that it's one of your concerns but it seems like vovovovan was trying to tell you other wise. Put 1/3 in your crank case, 1/3 in your brake booster hose, and 1/3 in your tank. Other wise don't pay more for gas that has 0 effects on you.
