sorry guys, just wonderin if anyone put new gears in themselves or did most people go out and get mechanics to do it. i live in georgia, and im gettin the vibe i should get someone to do it, im familiar with it but i dont think i know enough 2, but was wonderin if anyone knows any places to get it done in georgia

Yes you should get someone that has experience in installing gears. They need to put in right, due that you can damage your rear end if they are not installed correctly. So double pay and work.

get a pro to do it. don't even bother trying yourself. it really doesn't cost all that much. especially when you look at the price to performance ratio. gears are the best bang for the buck next to nitrous.

It takes several special tools, including a press, a accurate inch-pound torque wrench, a gorilla-size torque wrench, a dial micrometer, and a stout work surface to securely hold the differential assembly in place while using the above tools, especially the gorilla-size torque wrench. If you have access to these, you can do the installation yourself, but it should only cost around $200 for the installation (not including parts cost), and a professional can do this a lot faster than you or I.
