hey everyone, thanks for looking. i have a 96 v6 stang with a custom tune, exhaust, headers, and a cai. for my next mod i am considering 3.73 gears or a bbk throttle body. i figured the throttle body would be much easier to install and cheaper. what should i get? if i got the gears what else would i need? and if you could give me an estimate of how much you think it would run me. btw i have the stock 7.5 rear-end. opinions greatly appreciated! thanks in advance.

 

get the gears and lsd. if you bargin shop you can get it all for around $250. add another $200 for your mechanic friend to do it as a side job and you got it all done for $450. Thats what it was for me!!!

 

If you got the gears make sure to pick up that t-lock or the gears wont feel like they could be with both tires spinning, plus save yourself the cash from having the rear end taken apart once then doing it twice. But gears imo one of the best upgrades you can do to the v6s.

 

Gears, TB will do you no good, until you go forced induction.

 

A throttle body is worthless unless you get the upper intake ported to match. The intake/exhaust ports of an engine are only as big as their smallest parts (mostly lol).

Got the point, good, also, don't forget to get an LSD while you're at it.

 

If you buy a throttle body, start practicing kicking yourself in the ***, since it won;t do anything for you.
