I just ordered the set of head bolts from autozone, and just picked them up yesterday. But the box say 230 3.8 '97. I told them mine was '01 232, but they said thats the part number that came up when they put my year! Now, im wondering are the bolts the same for both engines, and can i still use them?

I'm pretty sure the head bolts are the same from 96-2001, but I wouldn't definitely confirm before attacking the job.

 

They look similar, kinda hard to tell without having them side by side. I have my old ones in my tool box "bolt drawer"

 

Well sitozone also says the exhaust manifold gaskets are the same from 94-04 they aren't they are very similar but not the same

 

autozone also gave me wrong coil for a 2000 mustang and said i was wrong cause there computer said so. oreillys ftw
