Need HELP w/ Carb 65 Mustang 200
Hi. I'm Jake. I just got a 65 Mustang 6 cylinder with the 1100 carb. The car starts and drives but when I am coming to a stop I have to ride the brake and keep the throttle steady or it will die. Always restarts though. Also if I accelerate too fast from a stop it will die. The guy I bought it from said it's something to do with the distributor and vacuum but I replaced that and it's still hesitating. I'm starting to think it's the carb, but after several adjustments it's still the same. The little flap on top of the carb does not open and close like it should, don't know why. Anyone got any tips for me besides buying a Ponycarb? (too costly or I would).
Getting very frustrated. Also replaced the fuel filter which was clean and the air filter which was filthy.

Take it to some old trustworthy mechanic and get him to rebuild it/clean it up for you(if you cant do it yourself). There is probably a bit of gum and varnish built up in it over the years causing some parts to not work properly.
