Yes those engines will both drop in your car.

Here is link to a great 4.2 shortblock.

It is 1735 for a honed stock block if you send in your engine. and they let you change a lot of stuff. Check it out.

right, but what would you do?

a) get a used 4.6L or a 5.0 L
b) get a ford crate engine for about 2k
c) mod the v-6 which probably total as much as it cost for a swap
d) keep it stock/trade in
a good cam and gears with posi would make a huge difference. i would go with 4.10s and auburn posi if you are possibly going to race it.
