Last time I checked, didn't the Mustang have one of the (if not the) largest aftermarket? I think that and the Honda Civic were one and two. Which makes sense, the Mustang has been around since '64 with no stopping of production. The only other car I can think of that's been around longer is the Vette, but Mustangs are a hell of a lot more common (I pass 3 or 4 on my 10 minute commute daily) than Vettes.

And Roush, how does the aftermarket not affect the potential a motor has to make power? I'd imagine the availbility of aftermarket parts is one of the most important factors when determining how much potential something has. How can you make much more than stock power with no aftermarket? You'd basically have to make everything yourself. Not saying the V6 has no aftermarket, just that it is very limited. I think everyone can agree upon that.

Size of aftermarket has nothing to do with how much potential a motor has. You don't need 10 thousand parts, just the right ones.

To NY's statement, the 5.0 has a "HUGE" aftermarket base, and I do mean "HUGE." It's so easy to get lost in the sea of parts and options it's not even funny. You could probably have 10000 5.0 Mustang and do no two the same engine wise, it's that big.

Yeah, but then everyone has the same ****ing car. Potential isn't just the HP numbers you can make. It's how many different ways you can make those numbers.

We should make this a sticky for what happens when you ask about a V8 swap in a V6 section...oh wait...we'd need a mod for that.

How many different ways to make those numbers.... like by not using the same size engine as everyone else? I mean I'd hate to have the same car as everyone else.

Hey, it's better than 3-4 years ago when we used to have a V6 vs V8 war every week, however that was partially my fault along with a few others (you know who you are) that kept starting sh*t with the V8 owners lmao.
