Default Air Temperature Sensor

Where exactly is the Air Temperature Sensor or Coolant Temperature Sensor on a 2004 V6. I'm so confused, I've looked everywhere. Any help would be great thanks!

The air temperature sensor (IAT) is integrated into the MAF sensor unit, mounted right behind the air filter box.

So if I was piggy backing a chip onto the air temperatue sensor, I would use the the cords that run into the MAF which is connected to the air filter box.

I wouldn't tie anything directly into that harness. The MAF sensor output is one of the major parameters affecting the performance of your car and splicing into anything sharing the connector to it is not something I would do. A performance chip is typically tied directly into the ECM located behind the passenger-side kick panel. I use a flash tuner rather than a chip so excuse my question if it seems foolish, but what kind of chip requires a tie-in directly to the IAT and/or coolant temp sensors?

You're not considering one of those 'Just plug this 'whatever' into your MAF or Air Temp Sensor and gain 20+ HP' are you? They're junk. Don't mess with the MAF unless you have a handheld programmer and dyno to see what effect the changes have or you could have some serious problems.

All your doing is putting a resister on the iat so that its sending back a lower voltage than whats read. Its tricking your car to run rich pretty much. I wouldn't suggest doing it, your car will run too rich and you will just clog up your cats. I doubt you will see any performance gain at all from doing this anyway.
