Update on my gauges
I thought I posted on this but search didn't turn it up.
To restate my car came with some white face gauges. At night they don't light up. Only the orange needles glow. I was thinking the guy before me may have just put them on over the stock ones and they just were not glowing through. When the sun would hit them just right I could see they were blue.
But last night soon after leaving the drive way they started fritzing as I say..a fast blinking ..dim then bright then dim and finally they came on and stayed on! It was the first time ever they did it. They have a cool blue glow to them after all. Trouble is after i went in Walmart and came back and started her back up they never came on again. I didn't hit a bump to make them come on the first time. Also the dimmer switch had ZERO effect on the brightness of the blue back lighting. It would dim the needles and the speedo but not the backlighting.
So now I don't know what to do. I now know they would work. I'm thinking it must be some weird short but you'd think they'd come on and off all the time instead of just this one time. I want them back! I could see my speed at night and they were beautiful to boot.
Stumped. Maybe take it apart and put new LEDs in? But if it' a wire that wont do it. A shop may charge a ton. UGH. Wish they'd just stay working.

If they are anything like the aftermarket ones that AM sells they have their own dimmer switch. Post a pic so we can see if we can identify where they came from. Do they look like the ones from AM? I had that problem when I put my gauge overlays from AM and they didnt lite up until I started to play with the dimmer switch that came with the new overlays.
