REALLY BAD gas smell! need help

And this is going to sound stupid..but have you pulled up your trunk liner to see if someone stored a gas can in the spare tire well?

yea i stripped the trunk today and the dealor supposedly dropped the tank when i took it to them

it smells like garbage in the car. don'tsmell anythingunder hood. gas cap light went om\n two weeks ago= replaced it.didn't help. looked every where for garbage. smell worse on passenger side.

I haven't read the thread either but Id check the wheel wells. CATs can stink like hell too if they are bad.

Man one time I went fishing and forgot and left a pack of chicken livers in my trunk. They slid into a spot I couldn't see. A week later in 100 degree summer heat I discovered them. My god.
