Default Help with a Diagnosis

Trying to diagnose a problem. The other day I noticed my car shifting funny. Mainly when I first crank it up in the morning and only in first gear. It is reving to about 3k before it actually shifts into 2nd and with limited power in 1st. After it gets warmed up the problem slowly gets better until it almost goes away. I originally thought it was tranny fluid level but all is fine and it is also VERY clean. The tranny has about 40k miles on it and was serviced about 20k miles ago. I took my tune off the other day and it still is acting up so i put it back on raising my idle and drive rpm's a little. Could my rear diff be goin bad or my spindles be stripping to cause this or is it likely tranny? I also considered a problem with the ecu but it feels more mechanical than electrical since it isnt really spontaneous. Send me your thoughts so I can try and fix this.

I hope you get lupus, then House cures you but not before he tortures you first with painful, irrelevant treatments.

Sounds to me like it needs a manual swap lol

Spindles wouldn't have any effect on the shift, it could be a leaky front pump seal, or an accumulator/actuator issue. Also check the cable itself, I've read a few things where guys had some oddball issues when the cable stretched

I called a friend of my dad's yesterday who owns a tranny shop. He basically said quick driving it, its just gonna have you walking faster. He seems to think it needs a rebuild. Basically, besides this car I will never own another auto tranny.
