Default 1994 mustang v6 temp gauge and sensor values

For a 1994 Mustang V6, does anyone know of a chart that indicates what sensor values (ohms, I think) should occur for your temp gauge to be at COLD, 25%, 50%, 75%, and HOT? My gauge was acting flaky, so I changed out the single post coolant gauge sensor and it doesn't work at all now. So, I'm trying to troubleshoot. How do I make my gauge jump to HOT and then maybe to various midway positions to ensure that the gauge is working properly. Maybe some kind of pot connected to the wire. And, then figure out if the temp coolant sensor is bad or not (out of the box). Thanks in advance.
