Mass Airflow Box Around MAF? 3.8 V6
So yesterday I was checking out new air intake kits and all the air intakes have a normal Mass Airflow Sensor. I opened up my hood took off my stock air intake and the MAF has a huge box around it. I took the box off and it had a normal MAF in it. can i take this box off and just have my air intake kit (bbk) and put it on the MAF or do i have to keep the box around it on??

The picture you posted is of your IAT, there will be a place in your CAI for that.
The CAI will come with the hardware needed to install your bare MAF tube to both tubes.
The stock filter housing will not be needed, remove the MAF from the housing.
