How did you bypass the PATS system without disabling your car?
I thought you had to use a tuner with that option to do that.

btw, if thats what was tripping it then your Theft light should have been blinking a code or on solid.

It would be interested to see exactly what was going on.

I have started having a random problem with PATS where I need to remove the key after it acts up, then put it back in and let it sit for a min in the ignition, then turn over to on without starting, wait a couple seconds more and THEN I can start it.

Not sure if the chipped key is failing or the sensor.

Crazy *** PATS problems. :P

my car will only turn over if I take off the cover for the starter Relay and make the connection by pushing the contact together

Why not just replace that? You seem to know whats wrong with it already. Usually relays are not much.

Default How to disable the theft system

I am having the same issue, i took the starter out figured it was bad solenoid, had it tested and it was fine. Put it back together and it started but today it wont start. I bypassed the clutch switch. still nothing, looked at the wiring diagram and it looks like it is the anti theft system relay. This started happening after someone tried to to punch the trunk keyhole... Coincidence? 2000 v-6 manual transmission.
