Default transmission not shifting in high rpms

I have a 2000 Mustang with a v6 4.6 liter engine and a 5 speed manual transmission. When I'm driving, once the engine gets above 2500 rpm or so, I can't shift into any gear except 4th. Once it lowers, I can shift into gear just fine. Any help is appreciated, and if I can possibly fix this cheaply without taking it to the shop, that'd be great. Thanks, everybody.

Are you sure you have a v6? 4.6 liter = GT. 3.8 liter = v6.

Anyway, sounds like a synchro problem to me
