Default new stereo installation for 2000 mustang, questions!!

I am installing my JVC stereo.

I got a few problems. Hope someone here could helps me.

1. how to remove the small thing see the following pic

2. I got only 4 pin wired.
Ground (black), ignition, illumination, and battery. is this correct?

3. I found 2 blocks of black small box. One has 8 wire holes and one has 6 wire holes. I guess the 8-hole one is for sound. right? Do I need the 6-hole small box?

4. for the 8-hole small box, is this deep enough? not sure. seems plenty of room outside of the adapter. And I don't get any sound out from speakers. not sure what's wrong here?

thank you for your time.

What radio are you removing? Some of the stock radios have a built in amp, you'll need to by pass it to get sound.

If you have mach 460, there is an adapter at crutchfield.com, that converts rca outputs to use with your factory amps.... http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1207055...s.html?tp=2977 ...im using this in my car and it sounds pretty good...better than stock mach 460 in my opinion

From my understanding, there is 3 amps in the mach 460, one under the radio itself powers all 4 tweeters, another powers the left door speakers, and the other is the right door speakers. (And the ones in the rear) and the rca output goes to the two trunk amps. It sounds really good personally, and all my speakers are powered. Good luck

Oh and i should add, i have a JVC headunit, the sound level goes to 50...I do get some distortion out of my front door tweeters above 40. Something about the impedance...I think ford has the car wired for 6 ohms, and anything aftermarket is 4 ohms...i may have that backwards...but all in all, know the limit on your speakers, DONT put any aftermarket speakers in your car, I did and i about fried my amps, i smelled something and i went to touch my amps and it about burned the skin off my hands. Now, if you want to redo your speakers your going to have to get the car rewired and a place here in Richmond, Va "Audio Express" will do mine for 400 and that includes all new speakers. Best buy was around 500. Your best bet is to get a headunit with 2 preamp outputs, and one can be for the stock amps and the other one you can run some rca's to your trunk for a 2channel amp and a pair of 12's which is what im running, i get alot of compliments on the sound system. I listen to music with alot of bass however, it depends on what music you like. when it comes to a system

EDIT: Now looking at your pictures i see you have a headunit with 2 preamp outputs.
